From now on this day shall be known as international oppo day (12/8.. nope not 8/12 :P). Write/post stuff in your native language here.
Håper dere alle har det bra. Her får dere litt norsk musikk.

Preco je dnes “International Oppo Day”? Mozes mi povedat preco?
For those of you who don’t speak Slovak/Czech, that says:
Why is today “International Oppo Day”? Can you tell me why?
Also, today is my brother’s birthday, uncle’s birthday, and parent’s wedding anniversary. Hooray for International Oppo Day!

Mijn vriendin woont in München.

Sure does. I’m sorry I can’t answer that in your native language though. But hey, neither could ‘Murica :P

As long as you don’t expect me to speak Norwegian, we’re good.
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:06 |
|
We’re good then. Only thing you MUST learn in Norwegian is the words Øl (Bier) and Skål (proost).

“Hi Oppo I am fluent in Morse code”
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:11 |

I had expected Øl to be the fluid I had to poor into my BX. I guess not. Still Skål though! Here’s what I’m having (proof is in the keys)
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:16 |

Øl/Öl is the Scandinavian word for beer,.. so.. uhm.. erg verwarrend?
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:16 |

...notes again how keen the Dutch are on double letters for long vowels.

Things they don’t like in Norway:
The letter C
The letter Ä

![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:18 |

I know... now. Had you not told me I would’ve guessed it meant oil, as the word is similar looking.

Hehe.. “Ich möchte eine flasche öl bitte” <— common mistake amongst elderly Norwegians in a pub in Germany.
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:22 |
|
Yes, double is long, single is short. Depending on the circumstances, as you don’t get the double identical letters at the end of a syllable that isn’t the end of a word, in that circumstance the letter following the vowel is frequently doubled in the case of a short vowel.
I think. I do all this automatically right.
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:23 |
|
We don’t need the letter C, we use K. As for Ä we’ve got the superior Æ :P

Möchten Sie eine Flasche 5W30 oder 15W40?
I really need to brush up on my German. I understand it just fine, but speaking it and picking the right der/die/das version will need a bit of work.

We prefer to use what we call a fada so:
Fear: Man
Féar: Grass
Sean: Old
Seán: A male name
![]() 08/12/2015 at 17:30 |
|
I should brush up on mine as well, but to be fair I hardly think the average german know when to use what either.. you’ve got hochdeutsch.. but who the fuck actually talks like that? Then there’s plattdeutsch.. and there’s schwäbisch (sure, they say it’s a high german dialect.. but..) Anywho, I’d say Dutch is easier.

Well, I’d be considered foreign by all the ‘Muricans on this site, and think 08/12 is utterly absurd, but my native language is still the thoroughly pedestrian English.
Crisps.

Durch is kinda similar to German if you read it. I guess I understood what you wrote.

Great food if you like meat, some more meat with a bit of boiled stuff :P
I really like the food down there though, I really do. But the best thing ever from Germany must be a proper Döner (scharf).
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:12 |
|
Haha yeah :D You can literally get Döner on almost every corner. Especially in Berlin
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:14 |
|
Forgot to add that I’m kinda embarrased for not knowing too much about Norway:o
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:14 |
|
I know, but here in Norway you can’t get a proper döner at ALL.. We have kebabs in pita though, but it’s not the same thing,
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:19 |
|
Well, there’s also some really bad Döner. The last I had tasted like nothing.
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:21 |
|
Sure, but then you’ll just walk a few meters and find a shop that sell Curry Würst ;P
Yeah, I’ve got a thing for German food.
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:25 |
|
Oo you’re making me hungry with all that food talk. I’d love myself some Currywurst with fries now.. hngg.
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:28 |

Sorry mate. I’m just REALLY into food.. hehe.
![]() 08/13/2015 at 16:32 |

Yep besides cars I also love food. And you don’t have to be sorry:D
